ere's some of the stuff that went down when we brought the dutch to our
wild country...
Friday, May 25
The guys and Margreete finally made it to Katrineholm, after driving like
1200 kilometers straight from Bremen, Germany. Today's show was at
Palladium, in our dear hometown. After setting the stage and such, we all
went down to my house for a nice mexican meal. We downed it pretty quickly,
and got to Palladium just in time to miss Anchor, who played first. Next
band up was For The Record, who played a short, but intense set. Smash the
Statues, who turned all the knobs and buttons into "annihilation" mode
shredded as usual, and the people who came to see the show seemed pretty
happy with what they heard. We finished the evening with a solid and decent
set. It's always a little different playing in front of your friends and
families, so I guess we were a little laidback... We wrapped everything up,
and went to Niklas place for some drinks and some Guitar Hero. Quite early
breakup, since our dutch buddies had been awake for about 24 hours...
Saturday, May 26
We slept in this morning, and didn't get up before 12 or something. After 1½
hours of breakfast, we enjoyed a lazy afternoon until we had to pick up our
stuff at Palladium. We headed of for Linköping, where we were playing at the
always really nice venue - Skylten. On tonight were the local band, the
Fear and the Yearning, who opened the evening. Next in line - The Indecision
Alarm, and like last time we played Skylten, we had technical issues during
our set. Both Micke and Evil Kid blew a string each, both in the same song!
Truly amazing! We finished a decent set, no surprises there, and prepared
the stage for our world domination friends from the Netherlands. As usual,
all knobs and buttons were turned into undescribable modes including
"tearing the flesh from your bones" mode, "making you lose hair" mode and
such. I really enjoyed their set, as usual. Last on the bill were the hyped
swedish pop-punkband - Neverstore. Not exactly my cup of tea, but the kids
seemed to enjoy them. A shame that they didn't enjoy the kids equally much.
After their set, they locked themselves in the backstage room, barred the
door, and all the kids who wanted their posters and records signed had to
leave unsatisfied. Not to mention that we had to clear the stage for them. I
didn't mind them borrowing our drums and cabinets, but if it were me, I
would had - at least- shown the courtesy to help taking away my own stuff...
Aight? Solid show by them, anyways.
Those were the days with the dutch...
