THE INDECISION ALARM

L’accostamento dei termini Hardcore e Melodico stava sparendo; non é un mistero che il genere, tanto caro alla scena di qualche anno fa, ormai sia in declino. Grazie a questo nuovo split “The New Wind And The Second Wave” finalmente possiamo tornare a parlare di influenze musicali dei Satanic Surfers, Venerea (di cui sono presenti alcuni componenti negli Enemy Alliance) Ten Foot Pole ed Adhesive (quest’ultimi invece sono collegati agli Indecision Alarm). Il disco come prodotto finale é impeccabile: ottimo l’artwork, la durata e la produzione dei pezzi estremamente professionale e cristallina. Musicalmente parlando non possiamo elogiare forti innovazioni tecniche da parte di entrambi gruppi, se non per qualche piacevole spiraglio qua e là. I primi a partire sono gli Enemy Alliance, che propongono la versione più classica dell’hardcore melodico, con un’ottima batteria che prende il controllo e gli altri strumenti che le vanno dietro con estrema facilità e fluidità. Sei canzoni che confermano (c’era qualche dubbio) le capacità tecniche e l’esperienza degli Svedesi, regalando un sound leggermente più digeribile ma sempre dinamico ed energetico al punto giusto. Gli Indecision Alarm, Scandinavi anche loro, giocano invece su un hardcore melodico più vicino ai Face To Face, Belvedere ed appunto Adhesive. Vena ancora più melodica nei loro sei pezzi, ma il lavoro di chitarre per certi versi é più apprezzabile in quanto a volte più vario (“Rod of Iron” ne é un ottimo esempio). Buona la voce, sicuramente un loro punto di forza, ma molto valido complessivamente il lavoro strumentale eseguito dal gruppo, che sembra volersi distinguere dagli Enemy Alliance – il risultato é uno split che nonostante abbia due gruppi dello stesso genere non stanca troppo facilmente – il nuovo vento sembra esserci, e prevedo che sarà ancora più piacevole in futuro.

TThe two words Hardcore and Melodic pronunced togheter, were near to disappear; it’s not a mistery that the genre, so popular some years ago, is in decline. Thanks to this new split “The new wind and the second wave” we can finally return to speak about musical influences of Satanic Surfers, Venerea (from whom there are some members in the Enemy Alliance), Ten Foot Pole and Adhesive (related to Indecision Alarm). The cd is great: cool artwork, the duration and production of the songs extremely professional and clear. Speaking about the music, we can’t say about technical innovations, even if there’s something of pleasure in some parts. The firsts to start are Enemy Alliance, that play the classical version of melodic hc, with a great drum who take the control and the other instruments follow it easy.
6 songs that confirmed (if it was necessary) the technic and experience of the Swedish people, giving a sound more easy to be listened, but always dynamic and energetic. The Indecision Alarm, Sandinavian at the same time, play a melodic hc more similar to Face to Face, Belvedere and, of course, Adhesive. More melodic vein in their tracks, but the guitars works are more appreciated because more various (“Rod of Iron” is a cool example). Good voice, surely a point of strenght, but very cool in the whole aspects, who seems they want to be different from EA – the result is that even if there are two similar bands, the cd sounds great at all – the new wind seems to be here, and I think it would be more pleasure in the future.
